I have never blogged before, but it seems the whole world is now doing it. Why not try it out. I guess I begin with an intro to our family. It all began back in 2001...
Rich and I were married in May of '01. We bought our first home in Provo, UT a few months later. It was a tiny 2-bedroom, 800-sq-ft house built in 1905. Not much to it, but it was ours. We were both finishing up school & working, graduating the following year in Aug. of '02 from Brigham Young University. I graduated in Home Ec. Education & Rich in MFHD (marriage family & human development). He has now gone on to do a masters at University of Utah in Licensed Professional Counseling-1 year to go... We now live in my parent's basement until Rich finishes school.
I started teaching the next year at Spanish Fork High School-Foods/Nutrition & Interior Design classes. I taught for a few years until I had Brennan in Nov. of 2004. I finished out the school year after I had him then quit so I could be home with him. I started working about 6 hrs a week at a preschool that my sister-in-law runs. It was great fun and I worked there until Elsie was born in June of this year, 2007. Now, I am just at home with the kids and loving not having to work anymore (but definitely missing the second income)!
Brennan just turned three. He is so precious! Brennan loves animals. He knows the names of every animal you can think of, and some you've never heard of (thank-you Diego). He loves books more than just about anything. He is always asking people to read books to him. Brennan just loves learning in general- counting, letters, spelling, etc... It is so fun to watch his mind grow with each "why?" question he asks. He started pre-school this year. I am doing a neighborhood "joy-school" with him. The mom's all rotate teaching at their home for a week. It's a small group of 5 kids. Brennan has been loving it. I don't know what I would do without my little cuddly sweetheart!
Elsie is nearly 6 months old. Time has really flown!!! She is a little angel-who only loves Mommy right now. She is perfect, as long as she is in my arms. Now, how can someone really complain about being loved so much?? You can't, but I will say my arms need a break sometimes. Elsie is full of smiles, though. She's become really mobile, too. No crawling yet, she rolls everywhere. It is pretty funny, really. She gets all around the room by rolling. I have found her in some funny places & positions. She chews on anything that gets near her mouth, too. I think we'll soon be working on her first teeth. She's a drooling & spitting machine! My favorite part are her big chubby cheeks. They are so squishy & squeezable!
So that's my family in a nutshell. Ta-Ta for now.
