June, Where Have You Gone?

You know how you think you are going to relax more once summertime comes?  You know how you envision those lazy days lying around the pool or beach (I wish).  We have been so busy this month that I can hardly stand it...  I am ready for this month to slow down and have some down time with my kids.  Time to get my house back in order.  Time to stop by here and visit my family blog.  Time.  I think time speeds up the older you get, though.  Ans since I am going gray, time is definitely moving quicker!

What has kept us so busy, you may ask?  Well, let me show you...

The first weekend in June, I took the kids camping.  We have a really great homeschool group full of some friends that we love.  There were about 6 families that went.  It was the first time my kids have been camping.  They loved it so much!  I went without Rich.  All on my own!  I set up the tent all on my own, slept in the wild all on my own, cooked over a fire... It was lots of fun.  I definitely want to take my family out again sometime.  Next time, someone need to help me convince my husband to come and help me out, though!!

We went to a place called Payson Lakes- it was stunning.  Look at this view!

Brennan experienced a few firsts: canoeing, fishing and riding in the back of a pick-up truck. He was pretty excited

The only thing he caught was me... literally. He was casting off & caught me.

Next we had swimming lessons for 2 weeks- every single day.  Those just wear me out.  Ok, so maybe I was sitting by a pool.  But there is no relaxing going on when you have a toddler by a pool- who can't seem to stay away from it.  I will say, that I am proud of my two little swimmers.  They made some incredible improvements.  Brennan was really and truly swimming- and jumping off the diving board.  This is a majorly big deal for this kid!

Also- Elsie turned 5 this month!  I can hardly stand how big she is getting.  Man she is really growing up!  Here are some pictures of  her birthday:

And just because my little sweetie needs to be represented:  Here are some of Burton as well.  We were at the park and he discovered a water spout.  He had so much fun with it!

Sitting in his rightful spot- the middle of the table of course!

I have such happy memories of camping at Payson lake as a kid. Looks like you had a good time and i think you are awesomely brave to go without Rich.
