Yeah, Happy Birthday!

So I have been learning over the years that birthdays are only magical when you are a kid. Today I turned 29... What fun things am I doing for my birthday? Well, today is just like any other day. Rich is at work & class until 8pm. The kids are both sick. I am doing some dishes & some laundry. I am changing diapers and wiping runny noses. I guess that the most exciting thing I am doing today is eating cake that I decided to make for myself, to celebrate. Oh, I also found a few white hairs on my head.

I had another cake decorating class this week & made a beautiful clown cake.I am not a big fan of clowns, but it actually turned out pretty cute. Brennan excitedly ate one clown. He doesn't eat the cake, just the frosting so it was pretty exciting for him to have such a large portion of frosting.

With Elsie crawling, life has gotten a little more exciting. I keep finding her in the funniest places, like under beds and tables and caught in mose traps, yes mouse traps! I was taking a shower the other day and had her gated off so she would stay right in the couch area. I came out and heard her kinda yelling a little. I found her underneath a table between the two couches stuck in one of those sticky mouse traps. It was pretty funny. She seemed only mildly bothered by it, though. Gratefully it was not stuck to her tongue. Getting gooey sticky stuff out of a wiggly baby's rolls is difficult! Cleaning it out of her shirt was much easier. Anyways...she is our little explorer.

This is Elsie's latest pilates move. She is very good at the side plank. Under that round belly are some rock hard abs! I envy her endurance.

As most Januaries in Utah, it has been extremely cold & gray. It is always at this time of year that I wonder what in the world I am doing living in a winter climate. Brennan has loved sledding down the hill in our back yard. He also love running through any snow no matter how deep it is. We almost always put the snow boots on these days, no matter where we are going, or else we are certain to have wet shoes, socks & pants. Here are a few pictures of all of the snow we have gotten over the past few weeks.
