Yeah, so I am learning to run. I must say it is kinda enjoyable. Mostly I enjoy it because it is something I have always wished I could do, and I am feeling a little proud. Little did I know, I just had to try. I decided I was going to run a 5k this summer. Why? Because I have always admired people who run races. Also, it forces me to try harder when I have a goal & a purpose. I have been working out for years, but I always walk or do aerobics. After I had Elsie I did a lot of treadmill walking. I decided to try running a little & have slowly been able to increase my duration. Well, yesterday, I got on & started running. I ran a full mile without stopping- that is a MAJOR accomplishment for someone who does not & never has run. I think that's the first time I have done that in my life. Then, I walked a little & ran for a whole mile again!!! Yeah, I ran 2 full miles, plus an extra half mile of walking. (I wanted to keep going, but Elsie decided to wake up from her nap. Elsie + Treadmill=DANGER!) So, I think I just might be able to accomplish this little goal of mine. Wish me luck & lots of encouragements so I don't give up before July.
When we go on our walks outside, Brennan likes to walk much of the time instead of riding in the stroller now. So, when I want to run, he runs along with me. It motivates me, too. I'll set little markers that we have to reach before we are allowed to stop. He is a quick little kid. I am proud of him. He can walk from our house all the way to the park up the mountain. It's about 2.5 miles round trip up an intensely steep hill. Then usually he'll walk back the whole way, too. He lags behind a bit, but he does it. So, I have a training buddy!

I totally know what you mean about running. I have never been a fan. I have been running with Jared the past couple of months and it actually does get more enjoyable. And it does feel pretty good to go farther than I have before (which isn't very far). The hardest part is being motivated to go each day.
Way to go, girl! As a city kid, Lexi has been walking since she was just under 2 years old and now she walks everywhere- just as much as I do. That's 3 miles on some days. It's a great habit to get your kids in!
YOU GO, KARYN!!!
