Fabulous Fourth!

We had such a fun weekend. My sister, Heidi came into town from CA, and spent the weekend with us. We also had my cousins in from CA as well. They cam over for a barbecue on the 4th. In the morning we got up early and went to see the hot air balloons. Then we got some breakfast & went over to the huge Provo parade. We found a good spot on the grass & settled in. We stayed for about an hour until the kids were ready to go (as were we). After that we headed home for the barbecue. We had about 40 people there. It was so much fun. It's always great to spend time with family. It's crazy though, I wonder when we all grew up so much!

Saturday we all went rafting down the Provo river. I have never done it before, but always wanted to. We had a pretty big group-16 of us in all. It was a sight getting 16 tubes up the canyon in and on top of our cars. All of us were going in blindly, so we didn't know what to expect. It ended up being quite the adventure. I saved a little girl who was kayaking with her dad & they capsized. I was floating by & he couldn't hold onto her & the kayak so he yelled to me-"Grab her!!!" I got her on the tube with me & went off to the side to wait for her dad. She was in hysterics. Everything worked out fine, though. My neices & nephews all had similar experiences of flipping over, loosing their tubes, getting rescued by people on rafts, etc. It was a big adventure. We all decided that next time it will be only adults! I loved it, though. I have some major bruising, though. I didn't hold my butt up high enough in the tube & smashed into a few big rocks- I learned my lesson after the 2nd one...

I think Rich has as much gray hair as I do. That makes me feel better about myself somehow.
