This Sunday was an exciting adventure. We got all ready as usual & made the trek over to church. We were a bit "late" (only 10 minutes early) so we had to sit in the back section of the church (the cultural hall, wood floors & folding chairs). Brennan suddenly starts saying he's hot & is whining & laying on me. I told him to roll up his sleeves. He was still hot. I felt his head & asked if he felt sick. He said no he didn't. So, I decided we would go get a drink. We stand up to leave & he PUKES ALL OVER! Yes, right in the middle of church. All over himself, Rich, Elsie & me. (Rich got the worst of it. It was in his shoes & socks, down his pants, etc...
Well, I jumped up & stood there dumbfounded for a second. You know that feeling where you're just not sure what to do? Everyone around us seemed to jump into action. It was pretty amazing how everyone helped so quickly to clean another child's puke. Someone handed us a bag for Brennan as he continued puking while I carried him to the bathroom. Someone grabbed Elsie & carried her to the bathroom, many others cleaned the floor & our trail of puke along the floor from our shoes. Others came to the bathroom & helped clean me & my kids. I was SO grateful for the help of everyone around us. So, to any of you reading who helped...THANKS!
We came home to clean up & get Brennan lying down. He continued throwing up & sleeping all afternoon. Poor kid! I sure hate it when my kids are sick. I had to go back over to lead the music in nursery & saw 2 other kids in the hallway looking green & on their way home. I guess it's been going around the neighborhood. ( Rich joked that it was something in the candy...)
Sunday night after a full day of throwing up, Brennan said the cutest thing. We were talking about how he would probably feel better in the morning. He said "Yeah, I hope. Throw-Upping is kinda hard."

What a miserable experience! Good thing you had so many helping hands. Hope he feels better.
Ohh... Poor Brennan. Hopefully he is feeling much better now! I can just imagine the terrible feeling right after he threw up at church and the gratitude you feel for those helping hands right after. How nice of them! Yes, throw upping is kinda hard! ;-)
I am so sorry!! No fun. If we are 15 min early we barely get a cushioned seat too!! Crazy. I thought it was just my ward.
oh so sad...That was so sad when he had to stay downstairs...poor little boy. We are so glad he is better
