The other day, the weather was beautiful, so I decided to take the kids up the canyon for a picnic lunch. We drove up & discovered that they were closing the roads for a few hours to dynamite some of the mountain. So we had to stay for a while. It turned into such a nice day! We took a little hike after our lunch, then when we found the most beautiful reservoir up the canyon. It was perfectly picturesque. I felt like I was in a vacation spot. It was such a nice detour. I would not have spent so much time up there if I was not forced to. But, I was glad that I was! The kids loved it, Too. We collected rocks, we saw some prarie dogs, we waded in a mountain stream... It was fabulous!
