We had a fun experience yesterday morning. I was in my bedroom with some music playing & I kept hearing this strange rumbling. I thouhgt it was something in the music. Then I realized it wasn't stopping. I went to look out the window and there were hundreds of motorcycles going by. There was a solid line of motorcycles going by in a double line for at least 20 minutes. It was so amazing to watch. At the beginning & end of the procession there were police motorcycles escorting them as well as ambulances & a few radio station & news vans. We went up to our balcony & watched them all go by. It seemed like it would never end. I couldn't even believe it! Brennan loved it. He was so excited to see them all flying by. Elsie amazingly was not awakened from her nap by the thunderous roaring.
I was curious to learn a little about what was going on. Apparently there was a gathering this weekend in Southern Utah of a motorcycle gang called the Bandidos. They were having their annual conference. The police knew it was coming & are gathering with them to prevent any problems. They are considered to be an "outlaw gang" & often cause problems & disruptions in the towns they are in. They supposedly rival the Hells's Angels & somethimes have turf wars with them. The police presence hopefully will deter the rivals from assembling. I learned all this from an article in the Salt Lake Tribune. It was quite informative...
