Stick Horses

This week at preschool was H week. We learned about Running Horse H who says "hhh, hhh, hhh" when he runs. In preparation for Horse day, I made 11 stick horses. They turned out SO cute. We let the kids glue on eyes & stars, color of their choice. They had fun racing around the room on their horses. I thought, since it's so simple & Elsie needs everything just like Brennan I may go get the supplies to make a stick unicorn for her.

Here's what you do if you want one of your own...
2 pieces of felt
2 big googly eyes
2 strips of fringe edging
1 long dowel
stuffing

Cut the shape of a horse head out of the felt. Cut ears from the corner pieces left over. Pin together with the 2 strips of fringe, & ears. Sew around, leaving bottom edge open (I just uesd a zig-zag stitch). Stuff with stuffing. Trim edges. Stick in dowel, hot glue bottom edge & tie closed with yarn or string. Decorate as desired with eyes & star, or horn for unicorn.
